Racing Through 2014

Though MEW is bustling Monday through Friday with the preparations and planning of Spring and Summer Weddings . . . the Winter weekends have become playtime!

Founder and Owner of Michelle Elaine Weddings, Michelle E. Fernie, likes to take advantage of such times with her passion for running and racing! Enjoy her first race of 2014, the Joe Kleinerman 10k this past Saturday.

New York Times Fashion + Style!

Had an exciting treat delivered via email tonight! I had NO idea that I was in the New York Times Fashion & Style for the NYC Marathon!  Thanks to a friend, this is what was found & I am SO excited to share it with all of you!!!

My 5:31:21 finish time was too slow for the paper but happy that my marathon fashions made it online! 😉

Happy + Healthy + Holidays!

As most of you know, running is my favorite past time, hobby, love and passion {besides wedding planning of course!}

Reflecting on my running year of 2013, I hope to motivate those who aspire to put health and fitness first in the coming year!

The holidays are certainly the hardest time of year to stay focused but trust me, the hard work pays off!

I have collaborated with Registered Dietitian Samantha Lynch in my A Healthy Life For Two; an additional package for couples seeking guidance in planning their health and well being.

If anyone wishes for guidance, a helping hand or just a little motivation please never hesitate to contact me!

Gone for a Run . . . a 26.2 Mile Run!

While many of you know, I was supposed to run the ING NYC Marathon last year . . . raised $3,000 for Achilles International , trained extremely hard, ended up injured, went through four weeks of emergency physical therapy, that ended literally one week before the set marathon date, . . . a few days later Sandy hit canceling this famous NYC race for the first time in history . . .

I was down but not out and put training at the top of my list on January 1st of this year. I built my body up stronger than ever with swimming, strength training, yoga, spin class and of course running the Central Park six mile loop like it was my job!

This year, I am stronger, and more ready than I’ve ever been for anything in my entire life! ING NYC Marathon 2013 here I come!!!! Woo Woo!

Bib# 36-690, keep an eye out for me tomorrow 🙂

**THE VERY BEST OF LUCK TO ALL OF MY FELLOW RUNNERS! THOSE WHO TRAVELED NEAR AND FAR TO BE HERE AGAIN! BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE WHO IS RUNNING THEIR FIRST MARATHON, I AM TOO! 🙂

Planning Weddings & Running Marathons!

Hello to all of my wonderful brides & brides to-be!

Believe it or not I finally got up the guts to run my very first half marathon this past October in Atlantic City! Time: 2 Hours & 46 Seconds . . . not bad for a first timer!

I wanted to just take the time to share this very proud moment with all of you 🙂
